MIT's MBA is built around a simple observation: this district is full of family businesses — sugar, paper, jaggery, cold storage, transport, retail — that are being handed to a generation who did not build them. Some of our students will run those firms. Others will join corporates. The programme is designed to serve both without pretending it is an IIM.
Two things distinguish it. First, dual specialisation: every student takes a major and a minor rather than one narrow track. Second, the live consulting project — a full semester embedded inside a real regional enterprise, working on a problem its owners actually care about, with a presentation to those owners at the end.
"The live consulting project put us inside an actual family business in Muzaffarnagar for a full semester. Messy, frustrating and the most useful thing I did in two years." — Fatima Khan, MBA Marketing 2025
Common core for all students, with a two-week orientation covering business English, spreadsheet skills and presentation technique.
Ends with the eight-week summer internship, which for many students becomes the basis of the final-year dissertation.
Students declare a major and a minor. The live consulting project runs across this semester alongside coursework.
Final specialisation papers plus the dissertation, defended before a panel that includes an external industry examiner.
Corporate finance, investment analysis, banking operations, financial modelling and risk management.
Brand management, sales and distribution, consumer research and digital marketing execution.
Talent acquisition, compensation design, industrial relations and organisational development.
Production planning, logistics, quality systems and procurement — highly relevant to the region's mills.
SQL, Tableau, predictive modelling and decision science, taught jointly with the AI department.
Venture design, funding, succession planning and scaling — built for family-business inheritors.
In the 2025 cycle, 91% of eligible MBA students received at least one offer, with a median package of ₹5.4 LPA and a highest of ₹16 LPA. A further 12% of the batch went directly into their own or their family's business, which we count separately rather than folding into the placement figure.
