Programme Overview
Information Technology at MIT is the applied sibling of Computer Science. Where CSE spends more time on theory — automata, compiler design, algorithm analysis — IT spends it on the systems organisations actually run: cloud infrastructure, databases at scale, enterprise integration, networks and the security that wraps around all of it.
The branch was designed with input from our recruiting partners in Noida and Gurugram, who told us plainly that they needed graduates who could deploy and operate software, not only write it. Every IT student therefore leaves having provisioned real infrastructure, written CI/CD pipelines and been on the receiving end of a simulated production incident.
IT students sit their AWS and Microsoft Azure certification exams on campus at subsidised rates. In 2025, 71 of 118 final-year students held at least one cloud certification at graduation.

Careers & Placement
In the 2025 cycle, 96% of eligible IT students received at least one offer, with a median package of ₹5.9 LPA and a highest of ₹18 LPA. Certification holders averaged roughly ₹1.2 LPA more than those without.
