Muzaffarnagar Institute of Technology is a self-financed technical institute approved by the All India Council for Technical Education and affiliated to Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Technical University, Lucknow. We hold a NAAC 'A' grade and NBA accreditation across four engineering branches.

What began in 2009 with 120 students in a single block is now a 45-acre residential campus of 4,800 learners, 240 faculty members, 58 laboratories and an incubation centre that has funded 19 student ventures. Roughly 62% of our students are the first in their family to attend a technical institution — a statistic we are prouder of than any ranking.

Every August I meet a new batch of students, and many arrive uncertain — about English, about mathematics, about whether they belong in an engineering classroom at all. Twenty-six years of teaching has taught me that this uncertainty says nothing about their capability and everything about the scho oling they had access to.

So we build the scaffolding: a compulsory bridge course, tutorial groups capped at twenty, a mentor assigned to every student for all four years, and a placement cell that starts working with them in semester four rather than semester seven. The results speak plainly enough — 96% placement, a median package that has doubled in six years, and alumni across ISRO, Infosys, L&T and their own startups.

Counselling session at MIT

Admission is through UPTAC counselling based on your JEE Main rank. Seats remaining after counselling are filled by direct admission on the basis of your 10+2 PCM aggregate. Applicants need at least 45% in PCM (40% for reserved categories).

B.Tech tuition ranges from ₹84,000 to ₹98,000 per year depending on branch. Hostel with mess is ₹78,000 per year and bus transport is ₹24,000–₹32,000 by route. There are no hidden development or examination surcharges beyond the university's own fee.

Yes — we disbursed ₹3.4 crore in 2025. JEE rank holders under 50,000 get 50% tuition waived; district toppers get 100%. We also process UP government post-matric scholarships for SC/ST/OBC and minority students on campus.

No. Roughly 1,600 of our 4,800 students are residents; the rest are day scholars using our 32-bus transport network. Hostel seats are allotted first to students living more than 60 km from campus.

You will not be alone — a majority of our intake comes from Hindi-medium schools. All first-year students take a compulsory three-week bridge course covering technical English, mathematics revision and basic programming, and communication labs continue through years two and three.

The Training & Placement Cell begins working with students in semester four: weekly aptitude tests, group discussions, mock interviews and a mandatory summer internship. In the 2025 cycle 210 companies visited campus and 96% of eligible students received at least one offer.
